Marie-Helene Babin
Marie-Helene Babin is an illustrator that works and lives in Vancouver, Canada, surrounded by the sea and mountains.
As long as she can remember, she’s been making art. She grew up in a creative home and had access to all sorts of artistic media, as well as a rich home library full of art & history books. As a child, she spent a lot of time in hospitals, and found great comfort in drawing.
For 20 years, she has worked as a face painter and a body painter. With illustration work, she uses mainly traditional media (her favourite being watercolours and colouring pencils). Lately she has been integrating digital painting into her illustrations. Through illustration, she focuses on creating images that will make you smile and dream while conveying a strong visual narrative.
When she’s not drawing, you can find her hiking in the old-growth forrest, reveling in observing small birds hopping on trees and light patches through the canopy, cycling along the seawall, strolling the shores while searching for little treasures brought from the sea, exploring new places, and swimming in the sea.
