Emma Oldham

Emma Oldham is a published children’s author, conservation biologist and elected representative in Newark on Trent, England.

Emma Oldham’s love for wildlife and storytelling began as a child. Always carrying a notepad in one hand and a creature in the other, she knew her two passions would merge into a career dedicated to protecting the planet.

Through her writing, public speaking, and work in local politics, Emma strives to inspire the next generation of conservationists and rewilders. With over a decade of experience in environmental journalism and children’s publishing, Emma has edited nature magazines and led communications for some of the UK’s largest wildlife charities. Her efforts have earned national recognition, including the 2023 Women of the Future Award, Novi Third Sector Leader of 2024 for nature writing, and a spot on the 2024 Ends Power List.

Emma now works with the Connected Conservation Foundation, unlocking technology—from IoT networks to satellites—to tackle some of the most pressing biodiversity challenges. She is also pursuing an MA in Creative Writing at the University of Lincoln.
