Wenwen Chen is an Australian-Chinese artist based in Melbourne, Australia. She has been fascinated by illustration from a young age, and after graduating with a degree in Fashion Design, made the bold decision to pursue illustration professionally.

Wenwen works primarily in digital media, enjoying the freedom it offers to experiment with shape, colour, and organic textures while maintaining a hand-drawn feel. Her work is inspired by childhood curiosity and the world around her, particularly plants, animals, nature and everyday life.

With a deep love for children’s books, Wenwen is especially passionate about engaging visual storytelling for young audiences, as the picture book is her own personal favourite genre to read. Alongside publishing, she also enjoys pattern design and illustration for licensing projects, where she offers her own unique whimsical and playful vision.

Wenwen’s illustrations are warm and comforting, shaped by inquisitiveness and a deep affection for the everyday, capturing the fleeting moments of life that often pass unnoticed.
