Tess Brown is an illustrator and visual development artist based in California’s Bay Area. She grew up on a horse ranch, riding show horses well into adulthood before galloping across the country to study illustration at Ringling College of Art and Design.

At Ringling, she honed her skills and found her artistic voice, earning a BFA in Illustration with a focus in Visual Development. Tess loves creating work that centers around the whimsical, fantastical, and magical, but she’s equally drawn to the eerie, the heartfelt, and everything in between.

Tess’s artistic curiosity has led her down many creative paths, including comics, concept art, 3D modeling, map-making, and more. In her free time, she dives into world-building projects inspired by folklore, bringing her imaginary worlds to life through both writing and illustration. When she’s not drawing, you can usually find her buried in a fantasy novel, doting on her blind cat, Shiva, or rolling nat 20s in a Dungeons & Dragons campaign with friends.
