Mariona was born in ‘77 in Barcelona, where she lives with her son Martín and has been working as an illustrator for more than 20 years. In her hometown, she studied illustration at Massana School of Art, followed by a postgraduate year in Strasbourg, France.

She is a curious person, a tireless explorer devoted to creative life who, during the last two decades, has published almost 100 children’s books in different languages and countries around the world. Mariona has received numerous awards for her work, both for her books published in Spain as well as abroad.

Beyond her work in the publishing industry, she has illustrated all kinds of products: puzzles and games, decorative vinyls, posters, wine labels, stationery… she paints and sews large format fabrics, runs illustration workshops for women and teaches at one of the Universities of art and design in Barcelona.
