Maja Veselinovic is an illustrator and visual artist based in Belgrade, Serbia, where she lives with her family.

Drawing found her early, and never let go. What began on walls and in notebooks grew into a lifelong love for storytelling through images.

For more than 15 years, she has been illustrating children’s books, magazines, and educational projects, blending traditional and digital techniques, enriched with hand-painted textures and playful details that bring each piece to life.

Maja studied fine and applied arts, and before focusing fully on illustration, she explored her artistic voice through comics, taught art in elementary school, and worked in graphic design.

Her inspiration comes from nature, old picture books, childhood memories, and everyday wonders—such as cats, the sea and moonlight.

Her approach to illustration is intuitive and poetic, with a whimsical spark. Whether she’s working on a picture book or a quick sketch, Maja tries to create something honest, warm, and full of life.
