Rocio “Chio” Guerra, originally from Mexico, has lived, worked and studied in The United States and Spain. She is an early childhood educator and an illustrator. Books, art, dance and music have always been her favorite tools to help the little ones express their creativity and feelings.
Surrounded by children, Chio was inspired to create her own pictures of tender characters to go along with moving stories for her classroom. This opened the door into the world of illustration.
Chio likes to draw traditionally using her sketchbook and loves capturing the energy and joy of children discovering the world. For finished pieces, she usually illustrates digitally, keeping a loose and sketchy touch in her work.
She currently lives in Finland with her partner and enjoys the wild nature and slow easy lifestyle of the nordic lands. Chio works as teacher and a freelance artist. She is illustrates both personal and commissioned projects.
