Irina Mileo

Born and raised in Tuscany, Irina has always been surrounded by nature and beautiful books since she was a child. In constant search of knowledge and inspired by classic illustrators, legendary ’80s comics, and animation masters, she graduated from Nemo Academy in illustration, right after earning her degree in engineering.

She has always pursued the goal of sharing her imaginary, whimsical worlds made of light and colours with others.

After a few years in animation as a visual developer and background artist, she is now a full-time children’s book illustrator. Her client list includes Hachette, Oxford University Press, David C. Cook, and more.

She lives near Florence with her partner, their daughter, and their cat, Ser Boo—a beloved Easter egg in many of her books.
