Marcielle Ventura, AKA Mava, is a Brazilian illustrator working from home with her three dogs.
She worked as an architect for several years but eventually realized her love for drawing was greater than her love for construction, so she shifted careers to illustration.
Her work often has a vintage and nostalgic feel. She is influenced by old books, childhood toys, and cartoons, her love for animals and history also plays a big role in inspiring her illustrations. She mainly works in children’s literature and advertising, especially when the subject is irresistibly cute.
When she’s not drawing, she spends her free time watching movies, petting her dogs, baking sourdough, and growing a dangerously large vinyl collection. In short: a chronic case of millennial cliché!
Mava is represented by James Burns — to work with her please email James Burns
