Mariya Popandopulo

Mariya Popandopulo is an illustrator based in France, originally from Kazakhstan.

She has been drawing for as long as she can remember, and illustration has always been a natural part of her life. She currently works primarily in digital illustration, which allows her to develop her style in a flexible and intuitive way.

Her work is inspired by stories, everyday life, and small moments that feel warm and meaningful. She is especially drawn to children’s illustration and enjoys creating bright, playful and emotionally expressive images.

Mariya likes to experiment within her style while keeping a strong sense of character and storytelling in her work.

She is currently based in France, where she lives with her husband, their young son, a dachshund, and two cats. Alongside her illustration practice, she enjoys reading, watching films, and photography.

Her aim is to create work that feels joyful, gentle and full of personality.
