Michael joins Bright at an exciting period of growth and expansion for the agency’s literary division, bringing specialist expertise of the ever-important US market. Previously an editor at Random House US and, more recently, a freelance editor and copywriter, he arrives with a finely tuned editorial instinct and a deep knowledge of the commercial landscape on both sides of the Atlantic.

Michael represents a select list of author-illustrators, working closely with talent and publishers to shape ideas and develop projects with strong commercial potential and genuine US appeal.

As the children’s publishing landscape continues to evolve, publishers are increasingly focused on acquiring titles that co-edition well, transition to backlist with confidence, and carry series potential. Michael’s editorial background and instinct for the market place him in a strong position to champion the kind of work that endures.
