Agent Lucie Luddington has led the growth of Bright’s Education department over the last six years and is well-known and well-loved within the industry. She works from her lovely countryside cottage in England round the clock for a global roster of artists and clients, and acts as a deeply knowledgeable and extremely dedicated advocate for Bright illustrators, uniting them with exciting new projects.
Every year, Lucie packs up her blue suitcase, flies across the pond, and hits the road, traveling across the United States to meet with clients all over the country. One can never underestimat the power of an in-person meeting, particularly with someone like Lucie, who has an infectiously cheerful presence.
In Lucie’s own words:
The range of territories that I visit on my U.S. trip means that I find myself in environments that are very different from one another. This makes for an exciting trip every year! The kindness and hospitality that I experienced as I made my way from Detroit to Minneapolis to Chicago to Nashville to Austin truly restored my faith in humanity, particularly during the fraught climate of current events in our world at large. The positive energy that I carried with me certainly led to positive meetings with clients as we worked to create new relationships, which will lead to the creation of beautiful books for children.
