Emily Balsley is an illustrator whose life is defined by her passion to create. She spends her days and nights hustling from project to project in her colorful studio in Madison, Wisconsin, USA. Whether drawing, painting, crafting, or working on DIY house projects, her non-stop making mesmerises her husband and inspires her daughter.
Emily loves exploring new mediums and drawing supplies and seeing how her style flows with experimentation. The more time she spends at her computer, her desire to get back to analog methods grows stronger. She loves drawing animals, people and food, and her illustration style ranges from super-saturated colour to black-and-white. Though Emily loves the stark contrast of drawing with black ink, and the challenge of using just one colour to create different tones and textures, she is a colour girl through and through - and will take any opportunity to infuse her art with bright colour. Tomato red, cotton candy pink, and sky blue are frequent players - but - when it comes to colour, really anything goes!
When Emily isn’t making, she loves to ride her bike, go for walks in her lovely neighbourhood, and spend time with her family.
