Jennifer Falkner

Jennifer Falkner is an illustrator and designer based in Perth, Western Australia.

Since graduating from Curtin University with a major in illustration she has spent the last 16 years of her career in art direction, textile design, brand development, and illustration.

Jennifer’s work is inspired by a passion for Australian flora and fauna, and a childhood playing and exploring the beach and the bush in Western Australia. With a background in graphic design, Jennifer’s early career was spent at Block, a boutique agency where she worked on brands such as the Perth International Arts Festival, Zekka, Rosendorffs, 3Sports, and Filmtecknara. In 2009, Jennifer founded Formosa, a venture that successfully blended Jennifer’s passions for textile design of Australian flora and fauna with her commitment to social and environmental justice.

Jennifer also finds inspiration in the daily antics of her two small boys, independent bookshops, her local museum, the cinema and the rich biodiversity of Australia’s south west. Her favourite mediums are gouache, watercolour, ink, pencils and photoshop.
