Emma Proctor
Originally from Wiltshire, Emma has been making illustrating in pyjamas look good since graduating in Illustration from Middlesex University in 1994. Emma has worked in-house for many high street clients including Clinton Cards, Hallmark Cards, Marks & Spencer, WHSmith, International Greetings, Moonpig, Woodmansterne, Tesco, Sainsbury’s, John Lewis, Boots, Disney, Walker Books, and UKG. Growing up, Emma’s love for dogs lead her to want to be a Vet. She soon realized that due to her number blindness and inability to study she would need to resort to her second love - drawing, and be content with owning a dog and not fixing them. Emma works in a HUGE variety of styles and mediums and welcomes briefs of all types. Whilst usually a right-hander she sometimes draws with her left hand to achieve more variety and a looser line style. When she’s not drawing she does voluntary work as an ‘Item Recovery Specialist’ for her young daughter. She is prolific at locating a gazillion-million-billion items lost around the house…or in the car…or thrown into trees. Emma is a recovering caffeine addict and is skilled at eating Lotus Biscoff Spread straight from the jar (which she has to hide in her desk drawer from her daughter!). She lives in Kettering with her VERY lazy spaniel ‘Betty’ who offers very little in the way of constructive criticism!
