Yufei Yang

Yufei grew up in Shanghai, constantly inspired by the bustle of the tireless, colourful, and ever-changing city around her. She loved capturing scenes in her sketchbook, a habit she has continued since moving to the UK, where she continues to find fresh inspiration. She studied illustration at CSA, where she became fascinated by how illustration can translate complex ideas into understandable and relatable images for people to enjoy. Yufei enjoys drawing both digitally and with traditional brushes in her sketchbook, often combining the two. Digital materials give her the opportunity to stay organized, while traditional media allow her the freedom to sketch out ideas spontaneously. She loves using bold colours, lines, and shapes in both her digital and traditional work.

Seeing her work appear in publications, magazines, on products, clothing, and hanging on walls is something she’s hugely grateful for. It gives her endless motivation to keep creating and sharing ideas through the wonderful medium of illustration.
