Sibu is a storyteller. Through illustrating and writing, he tells stories that aren’t often told, whether they be cultural or societal.
They are rich, colorful, and touch on universal issues through specific, small details. He works through the belief that everyone is connected through shared relationships, emotions, and the small moments in life that are captured in his illustrations. Born and raised in New York, Sibu is a first-generation child of immigrants from southern India. He spent a great deal of his childhood scribbling, sketching, dreaming, and imagining. Sibu received his BA in English literature at Stony Brook University and his MFA in illustration at the Hartford Art School. When he’s not in front of a drawing board, he’s got a camera in tow, taking pictures while hiking, and running from squirrels.
