Joules Garcia

Joules is a Filipino illustrator who was born in the Philippines, raised in the USA, and now happily settled in Italy with her wife and their cat, Thorin.

She is a proud immigrant, and has always explored her life experiences through art. This brought her to the School of Visual Arts in New York City, where she developed a desire to make emotions tangible through vibrant color and rich texture. She works primarily in Photoshop but informs her digital practice through traditional mediums such as color pencils and wax pastels.

After spending so much of her life moving from one country to the next, it is no wonder that Joules is drawn to stories about adventure and seeking a home. The full breadth of human emotion serves as her inspiration, but it is love that truly drives her. But when Joules isn’t romanticizing her life, she can be found indulging in science fiction, photography, and food.
