Artwork by Sahar Haghgoo

Sahar is an award-winning illustrator and storyteller now based in London, where she has spent the last decade refining her distinct visual voice. Originally from a background rich in narrative tradition, her journey into illustration began with a deep-seated love for character-driven stories and the magic of childhood wonder.

Known for her vibrant use of color and texture, Sahar often blends traditional sensibilities with modern digital techniques. Her work is characterized by its warmth, whimsical details, and a sense of movement that brings every page to life. She has a particular affinity for creating worlds where “magic is found in the everyday,” often drawing inspiration from the atmosphere of the changing seasons and the diverse urban landscapes of the UK.

Over her ten-year career in the UK, Sahar has collaborated with notable clients, most notably Nosy Crow, where she has illustrated successful, internationally published series that have reached readers in the US and been translated into multiple languages. Her excellence in the field has been recognized globally, recently earning her a prestigious spot as a finalist at the Bologna Children’s Book Fair.

When she isn’t at her desk, Sahar can be found exploring London’s parks or searching for the perfect teapot—a nod to her love for intricate patterns and the quiet ritual of a good cup of tea.
