Carol Liddiment


Carol is an illustrator based in Suffolk, England. She earned her B.A. in Textiles from Goldsmiths, University of London, and later completed an M.A. in Children’s Book Illustration at Cambridge School of Art. During her graduation show, Carol signed a two-book deal with Scholastic, marking the beginning of a nearly 20-year career illustrating a wide range of projects. These have included illustrating two books written by Julia Donaldson for the Songbird series and even illustrating and appearing in a TV advert for Nokia.

Her first book, Happy I’m a Hippo, won the Coventry Inspiration Book Award. Additionally, her work has earned accolades such as the Sharjah World Book Fair Award and the Middle East Book Award, which she won twice. She also received an honour in the Sydney Taylor Book Award.

Carol’s experience with traditional materials enriches her digital work, adding depth and texture to her illustrations. Passionate about colour, she excels at creating dynamic interactions between both animal and human characters.
