last updated 10 March 2025

Creative visionary illustrator and acclaimed director Robin Shaw has officially announced his departure from his long-time representation under David Higham after an inspiring eleven-year partnership. Shaw will be teaming up with Vicki Willden-Lebrecht at The Bright Agency, marking a new chapter in his celebrated career.

Best known for his collaboration with Raymond Briggs and as the visual artist behind the beloved Snowman brand, published by Penguin Random House, Robin has consistently captivated audiences with his unique storytelling and artistry. In 2019, he directed the critically acclaimed The Tiger Who Came to Tea, and this year his remarkable talent was recognised with a BAFTA nomination for his work as director of the acclaimed adaptation of Mog’s Christmas.

The decision to move to The Bright Agency comes after the fruitful introduction Robin had with Vicki Willden-Lebrecht in the film and television world. Their immediate connection over creative direction and storytelling has paved the way for a promising partnership that Robin believes will elevate his narratives and artistic vision. Vicki’s invaluable influence has already begun to shape Robin’s work into a distinct expression that resonates with both new and loyal audiences.

In his statement, Robin shared, ‘I haven’t felt so fired up about a new creative relationship in a long time. It’s so exciting and refreshing to start working with Vicki and Bright on new stories and creative ventures.’

Vicki Willden-Lebrecht expressed her enthusiasm for their collaboration, stating, ‘Robin is an extraordinary talent, and I’m honoured to work with him. Together, we will bring his incredible new stories to life through innovative and engaging projects that will resonate with fans around the world; I am excited to be sharing his work in Bologna.’

As Robin embarks on this new path, fans can look forward to exciting developments and projects in the pipeline that reflect his passion for storytelling, bringing emotion to his stories that stop you in your tracks.
