Fiona Woodcock in NYC

Bright was thrilled to learn that Fiona Woodcock would be coming to NYC to celebrate the annual SOI OA Art Show. Her latest author illustrated book, Silver Linings, (published by Greenwillow, HarperCollins US) was selected for the show. Fiona had a busy week while she was here that included book signings, the OA show reception, and her own SOI workshop.

“After having my work selected for the SOI Original Art Show for the fourth time, I gave in to curiosity and decided a trip to New York was in order. It was fascinating to experience this big event in the U.S publishing calendar. I enjoyed the speeches and got to say hello to the Bright US team and fellow authors and illustrators at the reception. It was inspiring seeing the array of work in the exhibition, but also all the other artwork hanging on the walls of the building, including a Norman Rockwell behind the bar!”

“I was able to catch up with my US publishers Greenwillow, and to visit supportive bookshops (Books of Wonder & Books are Magic) to sign copies of Silver Linings.”

“A real highlight was running a Silver Linings Saturday Picture Book Spotlight in a gallery at the SOI. There was a great gang of young local creatives who enjoyed experimenting with rubber stamps to create their own scenes with Pip and Parker from the book. I always enjoy sharing my books and process, but this was an extra special event and setting to remember.”
