Amy Phelps is an American illustrator from the Central Coast of California. They grew up visiting the local library every weekend, currently work as a part-time library assistant, and have always adored picture books and other children’s media; if asked, they will happily talk about classic picture books for hours. Amy studied illustration at the Pacific Northwest College of Art, and they make soft, colorful digital illustrations that have a collage-like aesthetic with plenty of patterns and textures. They frequently pull inspiration from vintage art and fairy tales, and are drawn to stories with LGBT+ themes and positive messages about mental health. Amy loves to get into a drawing mood by putting on a favorite podcast, making a cup of tea, and inviting their pet parakeet to take a nap on their shoulder.
