Rosie Butcher

Rosie Butcher is a March baby, born in 1989, in East Yorkshire - where they currently live and work.

Rosie completed a BA (Hons) in Illustration in summer, 2011, learning a variety of skills on the degree and enjoys working in a number of mediums. Rosie’s enjoys working with traditional materials like watercolours and pastels.

Rosie’s illustrations and working habits are also influenced by history, historical figures and scientific phenomenon; particularly Astronomy, She also gets a great deal of inspiration from music, film and live performances; frequently visiting the theatre, and finds the circus to be the most enchanting spectacle.

Rosie is extremely dedicated to children’s illustration, and spends all their time exploring it, and developing their skills. Rosie loves the way a children’s book can influence a child (and more often than not, an adult). Rosie thinks it is important to try to think like a child would and derive inspiration from the adventures of these little beings, and the belief in magic.
