Maja was born and raised in the U.S. to danish parents, and when she was young, she was given the danish version of “Pippi Longstocking” illustrated by Ingrid Van Nyman which have been an inspiration to her ever since. After graduating with a BFA from the Columbus College of Art and Design in Columbus, Ohio, Maja worked for Hallmark Cards, illustrating a variety of greeting cards, gift books and apparel. Maja’s inspiration comes from international folk art. Her hobbies include drawing on cocktail napkins, flamenco dance lessons and cats!
