Zainab “Daby” Faidhi is an Iraqi-American artist based in Los Angeles. With an early background in architecture, she worked professionally in the field before transitioning into animation and illustration. She later completed an MA in Character Animation and Storytelling at Central Saint Martins in London.

Her career spans animation, publishing, and mixed media fine art. She recently served as Assistant Art Director on Bat Family and the Emmy-nominated Merry Little Batman at Warner Bros. Animation. Her work on the Oscar-nominated feature The Breadwinner contributed to an Annie Award nomination for Outstanding Achievement in Production Design. She is also the recipient of the Best Arabic Director Award at the Iraqi International Film Festival for her animated short The Black Land.

Alongside her studio work, Daby illustrates children’s books for international publishers. Her personal fine art practice focuses on hand-made mixed media and three-dimensional art, combining architectural forms, graphic composition, and illustrative language.
