Ashling (Yaxin) Tu is a multidisciplinary artist and designer whose practice spans illustration, concept art, 3D art, and graphic design. Originally from China, Ashling moved to the United States at age 14 to pursue her education and later earned her degree in Illustration from the Maryland Institute College of Art (MICA). Growing up in a multicultural environment has given her a unique perspective, fueling her ability to tell stories that resonate across cultures.
Her work draws inspiration from everyday life, transforming simple moments into heartwarming and imaginative visuals. Ashling is passionate about crafting both digital and print assets, immersive visuals, and user-focused designs that bring narratives to life. She has collaborated with multidisciplinary teams on projects ranging from interactive media to branding and mascot design, always striving to bridge storytelling with visual impact.
Ashling’s artwork has been recognized in international competitions such as the JIA Illustration Award, Scholastic Art & Writing Awards, and the 3x3 International Illustration Awards. Beyond her professional practice, she continues to explore sculpting and craft design, expanding her creative language across mediums.
