Artwork by Anke Noack

Anke is a German illustrator from Berlin, now based in Melbourne, Australia, where she lives with her partner and their three wild and wonderful kids in a cottage in the bustling neighborhood of North Fitzroy and a tranquil sunlit art studio in the backyard.

With an MA in Architecture, she initially worked as a Senior Artist for Sony Entertainment in London, developing video games. Her creative journey then took her to leading game studios in Berlin and London, where she shaped immersive, imaginary worlds as a concept designer before returning to her first love: illustration.

Her art style is vibrant and luminous, full of whimsy, magic, and a sense of wide-eyed adventure. Influenced by a childhood steeped in Franco-Belgian comics and Studio Ghibli films, she brings a playful storytelling spirit to every piece. Whether sketching at her studio desk or from the window seat of a plane while traveling with her kids around the world, she finds inspiration everywhere.

Anke’s illustrations invite audiences into stories where imagination runs wild, creatures whisper secrets, and even a rainy Melbourne morning might lead to a magical portal (usually after breakfast).
