Introducing Silvia Guidolin
last updated 17 February 2026
Silvia is an Italian illustrator based in Bassano del Grappa. After studying scientific subjects all her life, she decided to throw it all away and follow her passion for drawing and painting, earning a degree in Traditional Illustration from the Scuola Internazionale di Comics in Padua.

She enjoys illustrating all kinds of stories, but above all she loves capturing everyday moments and emotions, creating atmospheres charged with feeling through the use of color, light, and expressive brushstrokes. Her technique of choice is acrylic paint, as it gives her the freedom to create both complex textures and delicate layers by applying soft, diluted coats, as well as strong, bold, textured strokes.

“I wish to tell stories that people can relate to and find comfort in. My main areas of interest when it comes to storytelling have to do with introspection, growing pains, interpersonal relationships and mental health.”
“I would be really excited to illustrate stories that tackle or have to do with mental health struggles, as I believe it’s really important to spread awareness about these topics among young readers. There was a time when I was a young reader looking for books with stories that had to do with mental health and I would love to make something that a younger me could have enjoyed or even be helped by.”
“Another subject that I’m very interested in, is biology: I have a bachelor’s degree in Biotechnologies and I’m very fascinated by life and the biology behind it. For example, I have this vivid memory of when I studied biology of the cell at university and I was extremely moved by how alive every single cell of our body is and how organized and busy it is. Ever since then I have always had this image in my head of the cell as a city, with its buildings, factories, streets, etc.”
