Clau Souza is a Brazilian designer and illustrator working internationally across publishing, education, design and advertising. She is especially drawn to the adaptability of illustration, flexibly shifting style to meet the needs of each project.

Over the years, Clau has collaborated with publishers, agencies, non-profits, and authors, including award-winning children’s writer and former Nickelodeon Magazine editor-in-chief Julie Winterbottom. Her work has been featured in publications such as Lürzer’s Archive and showcased in the “Girl from Ipanema” exhibition by Urban Arts, honoring Vinicius de Moraes’ 100th birthday, presented in São Paulo (Brazil) and Berlin (Germany). In recent years, alongside children’s illustration, Clau has collaborated with high-end Canadian clients under the direction of the award-winning real estate lifestyle agency The Brand Factory (TBF). She currently leads Design at one of Canada’s largest arts-related non-profits — Toronto Arts, focusing on branding for a wide range of community-focused projects.
