Kushiaania for Historic Royal Palaces
last updated 17 June 2026
Some projects leave the studio and end up several storeys tall. That’s exactly what happened when Bright artist Kushiaania created the artwork for Historic Royal Palaces and their upcoming exhibition, The Last Princesses of Punjab, at Kensington Palace.
Kushiaania art is a bold, layered portrait of inspirational women carrying banners that read “Deeds Not Words” and “Give Us A Voice”capturing the many roles these women played in history.
Kush’s design has since taken on a life of its own, painted by Joy Collective London as a striking mural on Commercial Road in Whitechapel. Seeing an illustration scaled up onto the side of a building is a brilliant reminder of just how far a single piece of artwork can travel, from sketchbook to gallery wall to public landmark.
The exhibition, The Last Princesses of Punjab: Sophia Duleep Singh and the women who shaped her, opens at Kensington Palace on 26 March 2026.
