For many years, The Bright Emporium has been a literary event space and community hub to our local London neighbourhood, providing book-based workshops and author and illustrator events. Founded by Bright, the Emporium saw weekend art events, explorations of brilliant books, publication launches and awards ceremonies, and even the odd Oktoberfest!

title Our famous ‘Storytime Sunday’ workshops brought author-illustrators and their fans together.

We took the difficult decision to close The Bright Emporium in 2020, in part due to the shut downs caused by the pandemic, however we’re excited to announce the evolution of this space and our work in the community with Bright’s new charity The Bright Foundation.

During the Covid-19 lockdowns in 2020 - 2021, The Bright Foundation donated over 500 books to low-income families around London, providing much needed books to children cut-off from school and library services.

The Bright Foundation will continue to grow, working closely with schoools to support further literary and educational opportunities, with the mission of inspiring parents and children to include and encourage reading in family life.
