Tony West and Margaret Wallace-Jones, co-owners of the Alligator’s Mouth Bookshop commented: “Authors, Illustrators and their publishers continue to bedazzle us with amusing, witty and subversive stories, decorated with illustrations to pore over and, if we are lucky, a map to get lost in. Many past entries have spawned a series of titles which are brilliant as children find their feet in the foothills of their reading journey. We are so pleased to shine a spotlight on these titles that deserve to be in every school.”

The longlist will be announced in March 2025, and the shortlist will be announced in May 2025.
