Richard Jones
Born in Warwickshire, Richard has been living and working in Devon for nearly 30 years. After finishing a degree in graphic design he stayed on a little longer to complete a PhD in illustration.
With a growing passion for children’s books, he spent several years working in a busy children’s library issuing, shelving and taking about other people’s picture books before wondering one day if it wasn’t about time he had a proper go at creating one or two himself…
So far, Richard has written or illustrated over 30 books and is published in more than 20 languages. His latest authored book The Biggest Breakfast, will be published in March 2025 with Simon and Schuster, followed a month later by Safe At Last with Walker Books.
He now works happily in the smallest room of his home. Across the roof tops of Exeter, and between the rounded Devon hills, he can just about make out the distant sparkling sea.
