Kristina Rodriguez is an illustrator living in Miami, Florida with a Cuban and Paraguayan background.
She has a BFA in painting and sculpture from Florida International University, but her first love has always been drawing. She has always been happiest creating her own characters and losing herself in the worlds and stories she built around them.
Kristina works mostly digitally. But she still enjoys the tactile feeling of brushes and paints and colored pencils, and she is always looking for ways to include traditional techniques and mediums in her projects. She loves color, line, light, and mood; and is inspired by traditional classical painting, expressionism, surrealism, mid-century graphic design, and folk art. One of her favorite parts of any project is the research phase where she can delve deep into the essence of a person, place, or thing. Kristina’s work has been exhibited at Wolfsonian/FIU, MOCA, and the Scope International Art Fair; and she has collaborated on multiple occasions with the New World Symphony.
Kristina lives and works from her home studio in Miami with her partner Clyde; and she enjoys traveling, being in nature, biking, yoga, meditation, vintage clothing, photography, dancing, desserts, coffee, tea, music, cats, and reading.
