Catherine Rayner is a multi-award-winning author and illustrator based in Edinburgh. Her children’s books have been translated into 35 languages and have sold over 2.5 million copies worldwide. They’ve been adapted for television, theatre, and musicals - and most recently, Catherine launched her own babywear collection, featuring beloved characters from her books.

She has written and illustrated 25 of her own books for children and has illustrated many more for other prestigious authors, including Julia Donaldson, Michael Morpurgo, and Michael Bond. Winner of the prestigious Kate Greenaway Medal in 2009, Catherine has since been shortlisted a further six times. Her work has earned numerous accolades in both the UK and the US, including the UKLA Book Award, the BookTrust Early Years Award, and the Junior Library Guild Gold Standard in the USA.

In addition to her work in publishing, Catherine runs a highly successful range of greetings cards featuring her own illustrations. Her designs are sold in shops and galleries around the world. She also regularly exhibits her large-scale paintings in galleries across the UK, and her artwork is held in private and public collections worldwide.
