Artwork by Adele Leyris

Adèle is a Franco-English illustrator with a love for exploration, of places, people, and ideas. Based in London (and often far beyond), her work is rooted in observation and research. Whether sketching the fashion-forward crowds of East London or capturing the stark drama of Icelandic snowstorms, she approaches each illustration as a mini-expedition. Her curiosity drives her to understand her subjects deeply, translating those discoveries into drawings that feel both intimate and expansive.

Adèle’s illustrations often begin in a sketchbook and evolve into pieces that blend the organic with the editorial, the poetic with the precise. She draws influence from traditional techniques (watercolour textures, etching lines, folk motifs) but brings them into the present through fresh compositions and unexpected storytelling.

Her work spans editorial, branding, and cultural projects, with a particular interest in themes aligned with her values: feminism, animal protection, diversity, and sustainable travel. She enjoys bridging contradictions: analog and digital, delicate and bold, nostalgic and forward-thinking.
