Thaís is a Brazilian author-illustrator and mixed-media artist based in Germany. She grew up in a small historic town in southern Minas Gerais, surrounded by mountains, waterfalls, and vibrant landscapes. These early visual memories continue to shape her work, reflected in her use of warm colors, rich textures, and atmospheric compositions.

Coming from a family of artists, creativity was always part of her everyday life. As a child, she carried art supplies everywhere—a habit that eventually led her to earn a BA in Fine Arts. She later moved to Germany to pursue an MFA in Media Art and Design, where she expanded her practice and explored new ways of storytelling.

Throughout her career, Thaís has collaborated with publishers including HarperCollins, Hachette, and Tyndale, among others. She is particularly drawn to whimsical, quirky worlds and characters, filled with texture, humor, and a touch of spookiness.
