Steven Russell Wells

Steven Russell Wells is an animation industry character designer currently living in the US. He moved to Los Angeles upon graduating from college but returned to his home state of Wisconsin during the pandemic where he now lives with his wife and two little boys.

After moving to LA, he stared out as an intern on SpongeBob SquarePants and has since become the character design lead for SpongeBob SquarePants feature films at Paramount, as well as a lead character designer at television animation studios like Nickelodeon, Netflix, DreamWorks, and Marvel Animation. Steven has also spent an extensive amount of his career working on the development side of animation, helping to bring new ideas to life to be green lit into movies or TV series at major networks.

Spending most of his day with his boys, he prefers to work late into the night, when he is most productive. He sleeps with whatever time is left over! In his free time, he likes to develop his own projects and play video games remotely with his friends scattered across the US.
