Shih-Yu Lin was raised in a small village surrounded by mountains in central Taiwan. He enjoyed watching the captivating play of light and shadow on the mountains.

From a young age, he had a love for drawing and started taking commissions at the age of eight. After gaining experience as a bag designer, he discovered his true passion for illustrations and picture books. He realized that he always found joy in reading picture books in bookshops, no matter where he was.

His passion for visual storytelling led him to the UK to study children’s book illustration. Since graduating in 2017, he has pursued a career as an illustrator. Currently, he resides in London, where he embraces the diversity and excitement of the vibrant city with his wife.
