Jeric Tan (he/him) is an illustrator based in Bacolod/Manila, Philippines. His spark for art started very young, similar to all the little children in the world when they realized they can put pencil and crayons on paper— the difference is Jeric’s one of the kids who never really stopped. In fact, he’s probably drawing right now as you’re reading this sentence.
With a particular fondness for narrative-driven artworks, he strives to convey youthfulness, whimsy, and warmth through his illustrations. Jeric has made drawings for more than a dozen children’s picture books, posters for various institutions, and even stickers for theater shows! He uses a combination of traditional paraphernalia (pencil, ink, paper, etc.) and digital tools (iPad and Procreate) to make his pictures. When he’s not drawing on his sketchbooks, he is usually found reading novels, baking chocolate chip cookies, or indulging himself in the wonderful world of musical theater. Jeric’s favorite fictional character is the forever awkward Chandler Bing, favorite songwriter is the forever genius Stephen Sondheim, and favorite kind of smoothie is Banana Berry (the largest size available).
