Christophe Jacques always wanted to be an artist—a dream that took shape in childhood and never let go. He studied illustration at the LUCA School of Arts in Brussels, where he developed his visual language, and graduated in 2008. Since then, he has gradually built a sustainable career as a professional illustrator.
Specializing in children’s illustration, Christophe has worked with clients all over the world. His work is characterized by bright, vibrant colors, joyful characters, and playful atmospheres. Humor lies at the heart of his practice, enabling him to create warm, accessible worlds that invite imagination and curiosity.
Since 2018, Christophe has been working full-time from a small village in Belgium, leading a quiet, almost hermit-like life. He draws inspiration from vintage illustrations and spends his days sketching, researching, and experimenting. When he is not drawing, he can often be found exploring old archives in search of traces of his ancestors, uncovering pieces of his family’s history. An avid listener of history podcasts, he continues to nurture his fascination with the past—an influence that subtly weaves its way into his work.
