Catherine has always had a great love for art and design. She grew up in a small Cornish village and always enjoyed entering local craft fairs and school art competitions. Inspired by the enthusiasm and artistic passion of fantastic art teacher during her secondary school years, Catherine knew from an early age that she wanted to be an artist and designer.
After going on to complete a Design and Illustration degree in Exeter, she left the South West for her first design job with an advertising company, honing her skills as a Graphic Designer and subsequently progressing to work with several design agencies. Equipped with invaluable skills and knowledge from many enjoyable years of experience working within the design industry, Catherine was keen to explore new creative avenues, and returned to illustration in order to develop her portfolio.
A huge lover of animals, Catherine finds them a strong influence in her work, and in addition to her more commercial work has painted a number of large murals with an animal theme as private projects, including for Dartmoor Zoo. Catherine is always on the lookout for new design trends, and loves to collect inspiring pieces of illustration on postcards and greetings cards. She would describe her work as bright, fun and quirky.
