Nicola Senior is an illustrator and writer living in the North West of England. After finishing a Fine Art degree she taught for many years, from little people to not so little people, thinking it would be a good way to use her creativity.
Alongside teaching she always continued to be creative, filling sketchbooks with portraits, colourful characters and big ideas. She made papier mache figures too, exhibiting and selling both here and in the US, was featured in Pretty Things and Country Living magazines and has provided editorial illustrations for many publications.
After starting to write and illustrate she also found the wonderful world of art licencing. Leaving teaching, she now fills her days creating art for licencing, writing stories and drawing pretty pictures!
Nicola’s preferred medium is watercolour, though gouache, ink and digital come a close second. Her work is contemporary with a quirky twist and incorporates detail and subtle palettes. When not busy, you’ll find her with a cup tea perusing Vogue and Pinterest for endless inspiration!
