Melissa McIndoe

Melissa is an artist based in upstate New York.

As a first generation American to a family of Jamaican immigrants, she was born into a household of stories. From the folklore of ‘Nansi Spider to the embezzled stories of her muma’s grocery trips gone horribly wrong, there was always something new to talk about. She started making short comics around age 4, and eventually went to the Maryland Institute College of Art, where she graduated as an animation major.

Melissa has freelanced as a storyboard artist and 2D animator in the past. In her personal art practice, she enjoys creating stories about kids in magical lands. She strives for diverse characters in all of her stories, and often draws inspiration from her time working with children.

When not daydreaming of her next comic, you can find Melissa hiking a mountain, exploring the outdoors or making another cup of tea.

Melissa is represented by Katie Blagden — to work with Melissa please email Katie
