Tricia was born into a large, happy and adventurous Irish family. Her early years were spent in South Africa living a carefree and often bare footed existence larking around with her five siblings. It was an idyllic upbringing made more so for Tricia as she fondly recalls the many times spent by her mother’s side watching her mother sketch and paint the vibrancy of their African surroundings.
The family moved back to Ireland and soon after to England when Tricia was ten. A very different climate and culture than she had grown used to but not without its many plusses. She would often visit galleries with her mother and soak up the rich collection of art that opened her eyes to even more joy of colour and shape. Consequently, it was no surprise when she subsequently gained a BA honours degree in fashion and textiles.
After five years in industry working as a designer for a household and dress textile manufacturers, she decided to become freelance to broaden her horizons. It was a good decision as she has enjoyed and continues to enjoy, a successful and rewarding career in ceramics, greeting cards, textile and illustration industry. Her favourite mediums are water colour paint, coloured crayon and cut paper.
She can be found doodling away in her Cheshire loft studio in her chocolate box thatched cottage complete with beautiful well stocked cottage garden that provides a wealth of inspiration for her creativity and design.
