Continuing the massive success of the Hiding Heidi launch at The Bright Emporium in London in July, Bright author and illustrator Fiona Woodcock traveled to New York to promote the US debut of the book, published stateside in November 2016 by Little Bee Books. Young Hiding Heidi fans gathered at Stories Bookshop + Storytelling Lab in Brooklyn for a reading of the book and a fun arts & crafts project to round out the lovely morning celebration and book launch.

The book has been a hit with both reviewers and young readers alike. Publisher’s Weekly gave Fiona’s debut author/illustrated picture book a glowing review, stating, “Playful imagery and Heidi’s eventual recognition of her friends’ talents add up to a warm story about compromise and common ground.” Keep scrolling for the best moments of the Hiding Heidi celebration over the weekend:

Fiona came prepared with plenty of activity sheets and stickers of all shapes and sizes – a huge hit with the group of the kids that gathered for the event! The activity helped emerging artists of all ages explore pattern, color and shapes.
