Bright Artist Sarah Green at The New York Times!

last updated 21 March 2017

title

Artist Sarah Green has recently illustrated a book about the world famous photographer, Dorothea Lange, which was published by Albert Whitman & Co on February 28, 2017. In celebration of Women’s History month, Sarah was asked to take part in a live illustration session on The New York Times Facebook page. During the event, Sarah created some wonderful art on-the-spot while speaking with Maria Russo, Children’s Book Editor at The New York Times.

We are so proud of Sarah, and excited that her artwork technique and creative process has been shared with so many people across social media. Not only is this a great celebration in honor of all women, both present day and throughout history, but it’s a wonderful way to get inspired by a successful, current female illustrator, visually describing the story of an incredible female photographer (at that time in a male dominated industry). Power to the women!

As she illustrates live in the studio, Sarah talks through her creative process, the materials she uses, her technique, her thoughts on Dorothea Lange, and on being a woman working in a creative industry today.
