Nancy Armo

Nancy’s background includes a degree in graphic design from the University of Washington and several years working as an art director for technology and industrial design companies. It was her love of picture books that lead her into writing and illustrating for children. Her illustrations are a combination of colored pencil, watercolor, and gouache assembled and finished in Photoshop. The Society of Children’s Book Writers and Illustrators (SCBWI) recognized her work with a portfolio honor award at a national conference. Her debut book was A Friend for Mole, published by Peachtree Publishers. She lives in a small seaside town on Long Island, NY where wild turkeys sometimes sit on her front porch to get out of the rain. When she isn’t drawing you are likely to find her paddling around in her blue kayak or on the beach looking for colored sea glass. Her favorite foods are pizza and chocolate cake. Brussels sprouts, however are never on the menu.
