Alexandra Colombo was born in Sofia (Bulgaria) on September 23rd, 1977, attended secondary school in Italy, specializing in scientific studies and hereafter the Milan European Institute of Design, getting a first-class degree (100/100) in illustration in 2002.

Her great passion is writing and illustrating poems, books and fairy tales.

In 2002 she illustrated the cooking-book “In cucina” by E.Spagnol for Salani editor. She participated in numerous book shows, as f.e. in the show “Il cibo” at the Municipal Library of Milan and at the University of Art in Osaka (Japan).

In 2004 she was selected for the International Competition of Illustration “Scarpetta d’oro” and got an honourable mention. In 2005 in the same competition she won the special prize “Fondazione Esposito”. In 2005 she published the book “In mezzo al mare” for De Agostini editons and the books “Beethoven” and “Mozart” for the ACME cultural enterprise of Taiwan.

In 2006 she published the books “When the Pigs Fly” e “Grandpa’s Folktales” for Silver ed. NY USA, the book “ I Mastodonti” for ed. Paline Italy and the book “Messico” for Alcione editions italy.
